Richard joined the firm in 2010 and is the firm’s managing partner. Richard serves clients in our offices in Florence, SC, Greensboro, NC, and Research Triangle Park, NC (Raleigh/Durham). Richard is an expert in individual and small business tax. Richard holds multiple degrees in taxation from the University of South Carolina and the University of Alabama.
Richard is a former member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ Technical Tax Advisory Panel and past chair of the American Accounting Association’s Tax Policy Committee. Richard has taught taxation at several major research universities, including the University of South Carolina, North Carolina State University, University of North Carolina, Colorado State University, and Washington State University.
In his free time, Richard enjoys traveling, do-it-yourself projects, and watching Major League Baseball and college football. Richard is from Columbia, SC and splits his time between Durham, NC and Florence, SC.
